Dear Misters Smith and Aschow,
Since the late 1970's I have associated the Mesa/Boogie
name with dynamite guitar sounds, usually played by the smartest
and hottest guitarists, and a reputation for the highest quality
equipment. Having played in bands part time and occasionally full
time for the past 30 years, I finally became an owner of a Mesa/Boogie
system.
While playing the actual instrument has occupied
a good deal of my attention, attaining Great Tone in a bass guitar
rig has been the "Holy Grail" of my musical career. In
the early 1970's, inspired by Phil Lesh and the Grateful Dead's
high fidelity sound, I bought a Macintosh amp and Alembic speakers.
Later I played a Music Man guitar through Music Man speakers, a
Gallien Kruger head and later a Hartke head. All these were good
in their day, and still sound respectable.
But nothing I have ever played through has the
superb sound and "feel" of the Mesa/Boogie
M-2000 amplifier I now have. My band noticed the difference
immediately and now they ask me to "turn it up -give it more
of the great sound!" My Mesa/Boogie amp and speakers have changed
the whole sound of our group and are a true pleasure to play.
My satisfaction with Mesa/Boogie extends beyond
owning and enjoying the finest musical equipment. In conversations
with Tien Lawrence and John Marshall I have experienced a high level
of informed, personable and extremely effective customer service.
Both Tien and John have spent time with me on the telephone and
in person answering questions and solving minor problems in a way
that made me feel valued as a customer and as a person. It is their
kind of service that inclines me to be a Mesa/Boogie enthusiast
for life. (Hey, give those guys a raise!)
I am an independent businessman and I sincerely
respect your commitment to great service as well as the superb equipment
you produce.
Thank you very much,
Carter B.

Dear Tien, (Tien Lawrence in our sales department)
Thank you very much for the advice you gave me
regarding my Nomad
45. I know that you're a busy person and I appreciate the effort
you made to help me diagnose the tube problems quickly and easily.
The amp runs great now and the various tones it produces are fantastic.
After playing Marshall (which also makes a fine
piece of equipment) for most of my life, I feel that a whole new
musical world has opened up for me The Nomad is, in my opinion,
the most versatile amp currently on the market, and the price is
quite reasonable. It's also very "user friendly", and
the owners manual explains many concepts of guitar amplification
in an understandable manner. I strongly recommend the Nomad to anyone
considering a new amp at any price.
Again, thanks for all your help and congratulations
on your new line of
Nomad amps.
Sincerely,
Craig T.

To Whom It May Concern:
As a fifth year guitarist, I have finally started
to search for that perfect tone. I have tried all of those name
brand/commercial companies and have ended up disappointed every
time. Every amp I have bought in the past five years has been broken
in some way or another. I have always wanted to try a Mesa, but
the price has always made me think that your company was just overpricing.
However, what I thought about Mesa amps has changed drastically.
After seeing your ad in Guitar World magazine (the
ad which displays a dual Rectifier Solo Head surrounded by letters
of praise from satisfied customers.) I decided to try Mesa out.
Two friends and I went to a local music store, none of us ever hearing
a Mesa before. One of my friends wailed out with a DC-10 head, the
other with a Dual Rectifier solo Head. Had I had a credit card,
I would have been in some serious debt!!!
Your Dual
Rectifier is in every way superior to any amp that I have ever
heard. The lows are powerful and dynamic, the highs are crystal
clear, and the EQ is so variable that you can get just about any
sound out of the head. I cannot wait until I get enough money to
buy one. Keep up the incredible work and I will pass my new found
joy to every guitarist that I encounter. Who knows, maybe someone
will read my letter in a future ad!!!
Sincerely,
Rob W.

Dear Sean, (Our Artist Relations Representative)
Just a quick note to tell you how totally enthused
I am over the
Formula-Pre. If you ask me, you guys have really nailed something
fantastic here. It's delivering the sound I have been after ever
since I retired my Mark II from road use and switched to a rack
system. I really couldn't be happier at the moment! (with my sound,
that is...)
I'm really looking forward to using this amp on
the road with Tom Tom Club in the early Fall, then with Douglas
September shortly after. I'll be in touch. Thanks again for everything!
Wish me luck; my wife is about to deliver our baby any day...most
likely I'll be a dad by the time this reaches you. Yipes!
With very best of regards

Dear Randall Smith,
It has been a year now since I've purchased a Mesa
Boogie DC-5. Since my purchase I've been absolutely satisfied
with it's amazing tone and I simply have to thank you. In years
past I've been an owner of Fender and Marshall amplifiers, until
one day I decided to give your amp a shot. I was totally floored
by everything about it! It was everything in one package that I
just couldn't find anywhere else. At the time I was moving to a
smaller amp because I was getting so tired of lugging a huge amp
around. The DC-5 was perfect, small yet very LOUD, very flexible,
cosmetically beautiful, built like a tank, and perfect for a musician
like myself.
Since owning the amp I have had one minor problem:
a typical blown fuse. When I called you for your service I was very
amazed with your concern for my problem. Your company took care
of my problem so well and took it into their hands, despite it being
a minor problem. I'm very thankful and satisfied with your customer
service and I encourage you to keep it up.
All I can say is that I've fallen in love with
your products. Since owning the DC-5, I have also influenced my
other fellow guitarist to buy himself a Boogie....so he did, and
he also praises your product's excellence. Thanks again for your
revolutionary instruments and your fine commitment to excellence.
You guys are the best! I hope to purchase another soon!

John, (John Rinkor in our sales department)
I just wanted to drop you a note thanking you for
all the help you've given me over the past two weeks. I just got
the head cabinet, and it looks absolutely perfect. Hopefully, in
a couple of months, I'll be able to get my hands on a matching 4X10
cabinet for it. Many, many thanks for coming up with a workable,
affordable solution to my portability problem. It's comforting to
know that, despite the company's growing size and customer base,
Mesa Boogie's staff still takes the time to support the requirements
of working musicians like myself.
Enclosed is a picture taken at New York's Bitter
End - the Maverick
is right up front for all to see and hear. And believe me, did they
EVER hear it! I mentioned to you that, unless you're a hardcore/thrash
player, an old blackface Fender is the only game in town for NYC
guitar players these days. The guys who can't cop an original BF
are using silverfaces, and the less well-heeled players are using
blackface reissues.
The other guys on the bill that night didn't believe
that my tone was coming out of a Boogie, The soundman - in front
of a full-house crowd - came over the stage monitors and asked me,
"that guitar sounds f*#&ing amazing - what the hell are
you playing through?" We played a couple of more places in
the past two weeks, and the reaction from most of the guitar players
in the audience was the same. Our producer came to the show last
night, and after he heard the tone, said he was seriously thinking
about getting one for his studio.
I mentioned to you before that I've been a Boogie
player for the past 15 years. But
the Maverick is the first Mesa amp that I played that sounds
completely different from all the Boogies I've ever used, which,
I suspect, is the reason for the reactions I'm getting from other
musicians who hear it.
And the feature set suits the tone of the amp perfectly.
The parallel effects loop allows me to run my digital time domain
effects processor completely wet, which allows most of the tone
to be unaffected by it. It seems that no matter how I set the dials,
I just can't get bad tone from either channel of the amp. And the
Maverick is just so damn responsive to the pickup that's driving
it! By just changing my pickup selector or slightly reducing the
volume, the tone changes dramatically. Without changing a setting
on the amp, I could go from a chimey, REM-type of tune up to a singing,
Robben Ford-type of lead tone. It's gotten to the point where, with
the exception of a compressor, I don't even use any kind of boost/distortion
device in the signal chain...the Maverick does it all for me.
Thanks again for a great amp, and for the great
support.

Dear Mesa,
I just finished reading an article in Guitar Player magazine about
"boutique" amplifiers. I was surprised to see that not one
of your amps was listed but then I read that the amp was to be point-
to-point hand wired. As near as I can tell you started this
genre of amps, but I guess it's their magazine. At the end
of the article they raved once more about Fender's Vibro-King.
It's an outstanding amp, but as Paul Harvey says, "Here's the rest
of the story":
My band, "Rimrock", is busy every weekend and we play a wide range
of music from Hank Williams to Dwight Yoakum and B.T.O. to Collective
Soul plus all points in between - whatever the audience wants to
hear that night. I was using a V-Twin
in front of a Peavey Classic 50 4x10 and it rocked, but something
was missing. Not being independently wealthy and raising a
family of five, I sold some surplus guitars and my drummer
and I went to Denver with nearly $3000 cash to find the perfect
amp. I wanted to conduct my own "shoot out" so I also brought
my trusty V-Twin and SRV Strat.
I had tried a Vibro-King a few months earlier and I was very impressed.
But rather than just buy it, I had to be certain it was the best.
When we got to the store I tried the Vibro first and we both really
liked it. Then we began testing everything against it.
We tried other Fenders, Marshalls, a Mark
IV and a Dual
Rectifier Solo head. The Vibro
was still the one. Then my drummer says, " What about that
Mesa Blue Angel over there?" So I tried it and it did all the things
I loved about the Vibro-King. Then I played the two amps against
each other and I could not make up my mind. "The Mesa is a
lot less money." says drum-man. "I'm not worried about that,
I want the best" I replied. Being concerned that the
Mesa was only 38 watts compared to the Fender's 60 watts I wanted
to hear if the difference in headroom was very great. It sure
was. The
Blue Angel played considerably louder
and cleaner than the Vibro-King! Sold! Not to mention,
this 4x10 BA clad in black leather looked so much better and saved
me a heap of cash!
I've worked this amp hard for almost a year now without any problems.
It never ceases to deliver the tones I want. It is not only
less expensive than a Vibro-King, it is easier to operate and way
more flexible. I just can't say enough good things about it!
I love it!
So does my bass player. He is a Peavey dealer and hates to
admit that he can't sell me anything that would compare. Thank
you for building such a fine instrument.
Your brother in tone,
Scott P.

It has been a year now since I purchased your Boogie
Mark
IV Amp and its about time I write to
thank you. During this past year I have enjoyed over 1,000
hours of flawless performance, as well as exceptional sound quality.
Thus, I have come to think of my Amp as a living, breathing entity
and I am very much in love with it. It is an instrument with
great depth of personality, capable of seeming endless expression.
I'm still tweeking knobs and finding new colors and textures.
I am pleased beyond my capabilities of enunciation so, I will simply
say; Thank you for your commitment to excellence. Thank
you for crafting the finest Amps. Especially, thank you for
mine.
Sincerely,
Greg N.

Thanks for sending me my new Dual
Rectifier. It Kills!! Enclosed
is the warranty card. I just wanted to drop a line and tell
you that not only are you guys the BEST amp company, but you are
the ONLY AMP COMPANY! When my amp got screwed up in the mail,
I was crushed and I lost my mind because it is the most expensive
thing I own. You guys tried to fix it, but a replacement was
the only thing possible left to do.
I was overwhelmed by the way you guys treated me. Even though
I am not a well known musician like Kirk Hammet, (even if I can
play better than him, Ha!) you guys still treated me like I was
your most important customer. Now on top of the superior sound,
looks, and craftsmanship of the amp, I can tell people that you
guys also have the best, most incredible service of any product
on the market.
I am on a crusade to spread the word to anyone who plays guitar
or bass. Already I have convinced 2 guitarists and my bass
player to check out your amps when they buy new stuff. Also,
whenever people come by our practice spot, I make sure to brag as
much as possible about how much better your amps are than anyone
else's.
Thanks Again!

Randall Smith,
I want to take the time to let you know how thrilled I am with my
new Mesa Boogie amplifier. I normally don't write letters
to manufacturers, but I feel you have earned a letter of thanks
and praise. I'm floored by the awesome sound of my new DC-3
amp. I also own a Maverick,
which is equally awesome.
The only way to describe the sound of this little amp is explosive!
I cannot believe it's only 35 watts RMS. There is not a bad
sound in this amp. Every detail down to the long spring reverb
is pure quality! I compared five other amps to the Boogie
and it sounded great at any setting. I found it impossible
to leave the music store without the amp and I'm not an impulse
buyer.
I've noticed several amp manufacturers are now offering amplifiers
that are cosmetic copies of vintage amps. At Mesa Boogie,
your focus seems to be on sound quality and versatility in a compact
package. I'll put my money on Mesa Boogie! Besides,
Mesa Boogie amps also happen to be great looking amps, and the quality
is not just skin deep!
You probably have guessed by now, I love my Mesa Boogie amps!
Thanks to you and your staff for making equipment of this caliber.
Mesa Boogie is an integral part of my sound.
Sincerely,
Mike D.

Dear Sirs,
I am writing you on behalf of my praise of Mesa/Boogie products,
and the top-notch, courteous and professional individuals in your
customer service department. (Especially Tien, who I thank
again for his time, patience and effort to fill the modest order
I recently placed!)
I am the proud owner of a Dual
Rectifier Solo Head, a Triple
Rectifier Solo head, a Triaxis
Pre Amp, a Simulclass
2:90 Power Amp & High
Gain Amp Switcher. They have never
failed to deliver the brutally saturated & harmonically rich
high gain sounds I demand in my thrash metal band. Your products
are the best I've ever owned! The are dependable beyond my
wildest dreams! (We play gigs 3 to 4 times a week.)
So in closing, I want to thank you for your fine products and your
excellent customer service. (Excellent in a large part due
to people like Tien.) If I get signed I'll surely grab a whole
bunch more of your gnarly rack gear and some recto cabs.
Thanks for Listening,

Dear Sirs,
I am a very hard-to-please guitarist. I've tried every combo
amp (single and double speaker), every (well, almost every) head
and cabinet combination, every preamp/ poweramp setup and just about
every brand of amplifier setup you can imagine. I have bought,
over the years, tons of large and small expensive setups.
I thought I was never going to be totally pleased with anything.
I thought I was too picky about tone and versatility.
Then this past spring, I bought my first Mesa Boogie - a 20 watt
Subway
Rocket.
Man, I'm telling you, I've never (after thousands of dollars) been
so blown away by such a small thing! This can't weigh more
than 20 pounds and is the most versatile, most portable, "toniest"
thing I've ever plugged into. The clean channel is totally controllable
and the lead channel is out of this world! Team this little
wonder up with the Digitech RP-10 pedal and this is a dream small
amp setup! (By the way, I didn't even create a special preset for
it, it was preset for a previous setup.)
Believe me, if I ever need to buy a more powerful amp for any reason
It'll be probably a Mark IV Boogie. I'm definitely a believer
now! Fantastic product!

Dear John (John Marshall in our sales
department)
I am writing to express my thanks for all your help and support
over the last year while helping me choose my dream guitar amp.
I must say that your service and technical support is second to
none and can not be matched by any other company.
It was nice to see that you had an open mind when I asked you about
other brands of amplifiers and you told me the pros and cons when
buying a different amp other than a Mesa/Boogie. I must say I spent
6 months testing every amp and rack unit on the market and also
combos versus full stacks. This was a great period for me because
I really learned to hear great tone, and the only amp in my mind
that has great tone is a Mesa/Boogie. I also had industry people,
studio engineers and other session guitarists listen to the 30 or
so different amps and they all agreed that the Mesa Gear sounded
the best. I also researched all the reviews on the Internet and
90% of the answers were as I expected...great tone, great service
and the last amp you will ever own.
So, finally I bought the Mesa/Boogie
Triaxis which is a dream come true. I
play Jazz, Fusion and on occasion, Heavy Metal music. I also do
sessions and the Triaxis Preamp just cuts it for every style of
music. I was so impressed with the Triaxis and your service that
I ordered the Mesa 2:90 Power Amp without even hearing it! And,
sure enough, it was as good as you said. I am now a very proud owner
of my Mesa gear.
I am planning on doing some sessions and demos with my rack for
a local music shop and they would like to use my rig to demo my
T.C. Electronics G-Force effects unit and asked if I can demo the
Triaxis and the 2:90
because there are so many people that are interested in the Mesa
equipment. I have to say that anyone that asks of my opinion on
an amp ......the first one I recommend is Mesa/Boogie!
Anyway, I am sending you a copy of my teacher's CD just to say thanks
for all your help.
Yours Faithfully
Steven B.

My name is Marty. I have been a proud Boogie owner
for about 2 years now. I play in a very busy band up here in Wisconsin
and subject my stuff to a lot of road abuse. I currently own 2 Dual
Rectifier cabs, 2 TriAxis',
a Simul
2:90, Fifty/Fifty,
a 2x12
wedge, Abacus and also the High Gain
amp switch. These pieces have never failed me and continue to put
out the in-your-face sounds that I need to get me through the show,
studio or rehearsal. You know an amp is killer if you get goose-bumps
every time you plug in! I've had this stuff for over two years now
and I'm still finding soundscapes that I thought could never occur
in one amp.
Your staff has been very supportive and it is always a pleasure
talking with Tien. He's helped me through a ton of stuff I had questions
about.
Just thought I'd drop you a line and tell you how happy I am with
the service you provide. Keep up the good work.

My name is Chris and I'm in a band called N17,
signed to Slipdisc/Mercury Polygram records. I just wanted to tell
you a story about your amps on our last tour. On one of our last
shows on the tour we were in Tucson (and we get pretty crazy on
stage...to give you a bit of background). At one point our bass
player, Damon, fell into my stack sending the Dual
Rectifier head on top to collapse the
whole thing down, and causing the head to fall face-first to the
stage and roll all the way (over my legs) to on top of the monitors.
With the exception of a loud bang when it hit the floor, I kid you
not...that beast never stopped working for a second. Thank goodness
my roadie used a long speaker cable this evening ‘cause we never
had to miss a note of the song and the show kicked ass!
I am in the process of buying a DC-10
long chassis head right now and I'll tell you it's the best sounding
head I have ever heard and that's no lie just to kiss up. After
that tour we were hit by a reassuring revelation that Mesa Boogie's
are not only the best sounding amp ever, but are the toughest amps
ever built for the road/studio or any application and I refuse to
use anything else for as long as I'm a touring musician and recording
albums that require the best.
I guess I am just writing to say "thanx" to everyone at Mesa/Boogie
for not going cheap and making a lesser amp for more money, but
making an amp without cutting any corners and focusing on sure-fire
performance and quality in every sense of the word "Amplifier".
Sincerely,
Chris C.
