Barry Shirley with his Stiletto and Road King
Barry Shirley on Stiletto and Road King

Dear Mesa/Boogie,

Lets define tone. Tone (tohn) - A musical sound, especially with reference to its pitch, quality and strength.  It’s obvious to me that you guys have been reading the old dictionary, especially the part referring to the quality and strength.

I first played through a Stiletto Deuce at my local Mesa Dealer, Musician Supply.  It was an instant hit with me.  The voicing of this amp is on the money with its EL-34 power.  I ordered mine on the spot.

I am most impressed with its crunch mode.  Absolutely spot on!  With the spongy switch engaged, the brown sound is there for your listening pleasure.  I use the Stiletto head in conjunction with my Road King head via an amp switcher.  Its the most incredible rig.  If you are on a diet you may want to stay clear of the Stiletto, as it’s high in saturated fat and carbohydrates.  All meat and potatoes, not a speck of cereal!

I've owned six Mesa amps and have never been disappointed.  The quality of these American made amps is second to none. I've used Mesa gear exclusively since 1980 and the customer service I have received from them keeps me coming back for more.  What a great American story theirs is.

Keep up the great work guys.  As players we are lucky to have tools like this.

Regards,

Barry Shirley
